Role Summary
This position is a full-time remote opportunity for an experienced Uzbek OPI/VRI Interpreter. The role involves delivering professional Uzbek-to-English and English-to-Uzbek interpretation through phone and video for clients in areas including healthcare, government, legal services, and customer support.
What You Will Do
- Interpret accurately and completely between Uzbek and English during phone and video sessions.
- Convey the meaning of each speaker clearly while staying neutral and culturally aware.
- Follow client instructions, confidentiality rules, and industry-specific standards at all times.
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing terminology and any relevant context before sessions begin.
- Record session details or complete documentation whenever required.
- Coordinate with support teams to help maintain consistent service quality.
- Manage appointments efficiently and remain composed during back-to-back calls or interpreting sessions.
Requirements
- Strong fluency in both Uzbek and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension ability.
- Previous experience in OPI/VRI interpreting or in community, legal, or medical interpreting is preferred, especially in a professional or BPO setting.
- Capability to interpret specialized content, including legal, technical, and medical language, without losing accuracy or neutrality.
- A customer-focused approach with professionalism, patience, empathy, and confidence in difficult or emotional conversations.
- Good multitasking, problem-solving, and time-management skills, plus the ability to work independently from a remote setup.
- Access to a dependable high-speed internet connection, a suitable computer or laptop, a headset, and a quiet private workspace.
- Comfort using interpretation platforms and basic software such as video conferencing tools and CRM or call-handling systems is an advantage.
- Training or certification in interpreting or translation, or formal study in languages, linguistics, or a related subject, is beneficial.
