About the Role
The Queen's Cue, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, alongside Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is searching for warm, approachable, and confident Ushers - Host/Runners to join our Food & Beverage team in Stratford, Ontario. Our Ushers serve as the welcoming face to our guests, playing a key role in shaping a memorable dining experience by greeting guests warmly, guiding them to their tables, and supporting service flow efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests promptly with an engaging, friendly demeanor.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists efficiently ensuring smooth seating flow.
- Answer guest inquiries both in person and via telephone professionally and accurately.
- Take orders and provide menu and beverage suggestions tailored to guest preferences.
- Support table service with food running, water service, clearing, and resetting tables during busy periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized entrance and host area, ensuring menus and service spaces are guest-ready.
- Perform opening and closing tasks while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Communicate guest dietary needs, allergies, celebrations, and special requests to the service team clearly.
- Help maintain the pace and energy of the dining area, adjusting engagement appropriately.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hosting, serving, or hospitality roles is highly valued.
- Valid Smart Serve and Food Handler certifications are mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to initiate conversation and make thoughtful recommendations.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, managing seating flow and guest service seamlessly.
- Attentiveness to cleanliness, presentation, and orderly service environment.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, and place items weighing up to 25 lbs safely.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist wherever required during service hours.
- Flexible availability including daytime, evening, weekend, and holidays shifts.
