Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the R&D team focused on immersive technologies. The work centers on building, refining, and deploying real-time visualization applications in Unreal Engine 5 for advanced display environments. You will create interactive experiences, bring in 3D assets, and shape lighting, materials, animation, and visual effects for setups such as LED walls, projection systems, XR environments, and other non-standard visualization systems.
The role calls for close coordination with AV engineers, graphics programmers, artists, electronics teams, and other technical stakeholders to produce scalable applications that look polished while staying efficient and reliable in production.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and maintain real-time applications in Unreal Engine 5.
- Build immersive experiences for simulation platforms, digital twins, XR use cases, virtual production, and interactive demo systems.
- Use Blueprint scripting to create application logic and interactive workflows.
- Structure projects in a modular way so they can scale cleanly.
- Keep applications stable and suitable for production use.
- Import, refine, and integrate 3D assets from tools such as Blender, Maya, or similar DCC software.
- Create scenes using static meshes, skeletal meshes, landscapes, foliage, and PBR materials.
- Set up lighting, shaders, post-processing, reflections, and Niagara visual effects.
- Work with animation, camera setups, cinematic sequences, and interactive elements.
- Improve rendering performance for real-time use cases.
- Configure and tune Lumen, Nanite, Virtual Shadow Maps, post-processing, and general rendering settings.
- Track GPU and CPU usage and make changes to preserve target frame rates.
- Prepare projects for high-resolution, multi-display environments.
- Develop for LED walls, projection setups, curved and circular displays, and dome-style installations.
- Support synchronized multi-display deployment and coordinate with AV teams on layouts and rendering flow.
- Set up cameras, display geometry, and projection workflows for immersive installations.
- Collaborate with AV engineers, graphics engineers, artists, software engineers, electronics engineers, product teams, and QA/validation teams.
- Help integrate Unreal Engine applications with AV hardware and visualization systems.
- Take part in prototypes, customer demos, and validation work.
- Investigate and fix rendering defects, Blueprint issues, shader compilation errors, asset integration problems, bottlenecks, and packaging/deployment issues.
- Support testing, release updates, and stable deployment across production environments.
- Prepare technical documentation, architecture notes, deployment procedures, optimization reports, and user guides.
- Maintain source code in Git and contribute to design reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Requirements
- B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science, Game Development, Computer Graphics, Information Technology, Multimedia, Animation, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional Unreal Engine development experience.
- A strong portfolio showing real-time visualization, simulation, gaming, XR, or virtual production work.
- Hands-on experience building interactive applications with Blueprint scripting.
- Solid experience with Unreal Engine 5, level design, the material editor, Sequencer, Niagara VFX, lighting, rendering, post-processing, and performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of Blender, Autodesk Maya, and preferably 3ds Max, along with FBX pipelines, asset optimization, texture handling, and material creation.
- Understanding of Lumen, Nanite, physically based rendering, camera systems, projection workflows, interactive visualization, and multi-display rendering.
- Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio, Unreal Build System, and a Windows development setup.
- Experience with virtual production, nDisplay, Live Link, DMX lighting control, OSC, LED walls, projection systems, immersive installations, and external hardware integration is a strong advantage.
- Basic C++ experience inside Unreal Engine is preferred.
- Exposure to XR, VR, or AR development is beneficial.
- Additional helpful experience includes Pixel Streaming, Datasmith, photogrammetry, NVIDIA RTX rendering, digital twins, motion tracking, and Linux-based rendering environments.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, optimization skills, communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to balance performance with visual quality are important.
Technical environment
The development stack includes Unreal Engine 5, Blueprint Visual Scripting, basic C++, Lumen, Nanite, Niagara, Sequencer, Blender, Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Git, NVIDIA RTX workstations, and professional visualization hardware.
Performance expectations
- Deliver and deploy Unreal Engine visualization applications successfully.
- Hit target frame rates and maintain strong rendering performance across immersive display systems.
- Integrate high-quality 3D assets and interactive features efficiently.
- Reduce issues related to rendering, deployment, and performance.
- Complete milestones and releases on time.
- Work effectively with AV and engineering teams on immersive installations.
- Follow documentation, coding, and version control standards.
- Produce stable, scalable, and visually strong real-time experiences.
