Opportunity

This position sits within Fortescue’s Tyre Fitting team at the Solomon mine site. The role comes with practical, on-the-job coaching and training, making it a strong fit for someone looking to build hands-on technical capability in a mining environment.

Location and roster

The work location is Fortescue’s Solomon mine, on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples. The roster is 7 days on, 7 nights on, followed by 14 days off. This is a fly-in fly-out arrangement from Perth or Busselton.

What you will do

  • Maintain tyres on heavy mobile equipment as well as light vehicles.
  • Complete scheduled inspections and routine servicing to meet required safety and performance standards.
  • Carry out work in line with company procedures and task instructions.
  • Follow all site safety rules and demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices.
  • Work cooperatively within a team and show willingness to learn.

Qualifications and experience

  • Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology (AUR2190) or an equivalent qualification is required; off-the-road tyre experience is essential.
  • A strong safety mindset is important.
  • A current driver’s licence is required.
  • Previous tyre fitting experience is preferred, ideally gained in a mining setting.
