Job description

Position Overview

The Kansas Judicial Branch is hiring a Trial Court Clerk II for the 1st Judicial District in Leavenworth County, Kansas. This role is classified as Grade 18 and pays $18.757 per hour. It is a structured clerical position that follows established procedures and supports daily court operations.

Key Duties

You will handle routine court clerk tasks such as receiving and filing documents, including electronic filings, scanning and imaging records, data entry, and collecting and receipting payments. The role also includes scheduling hearings, keeping court calendars current, and assisting with caseload management across multiple district court areas as needed. In addition, you will provide professional customer service and share information with judges, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, state agencies, and members of the public. Other duties may be assigned by the Clerk of the District Court.

Required Background

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of clerical experience. Candidates should be comfortable using computer programs and familiar with modern office processes. Strong attention to detail, the ability to organize priorities, manage multiple tasks, and follow both verbal and written directions are important. Applicants should also be able to make decisions based on applicable laws, court rules, and internal procedures.
