Job Overview
The Network Operations Center (NOC) serves as the central command hub managing transportation execution across Amazon's supply chain, supporting regions including North America, India, and Europe. It ensures smooth, timely freight pickup and delivery from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers and onward to carrier hubs. Beyond addressing immediate transport exceptions, the NOC evaluates network trends to automate processes and optimize operations, impacting Amazon's ability to deliver timely service.
Role Summary
A Transportation Operations Specialist within the NOC facilitates communication between external and internal stakeholders, resolving issues that could affect business flow and customer satisfaction. This position, based in India, focuses on supporting Amazon's Japan operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with external parties such as carriers and suppliers, as well as internal teams including retail, finance, software support, and fulfillment centers to ensure seamless information flow.
- Extract and analyze data from various databases using tools like Excel, Access, and SQL to generate reports as needed.
- Develop and interpret performance metrics that aid in driving business outcomes.
- Gather and define business and functional requirements for technology teams to enhance NOC software systems.
- Quickly assess business impacts from operational trends and make informed decisions based on the data.
- Promptly escalate discrepancies or issues to appropriate teams and track resolution progress.
- Operate effectively within strict time constraints to satisfy critical business demands while monitoring task metrics.
- Communicate excellently in both verbal and written forms, including preparing regular reports and presenting analyses; proficiency in Japanese is mandatory.
- Provide real-time customer service in a 24/7 work environment that includes night shifts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated business communication skills in Japanese with JLPT N2 or N1 certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing stakeholders across global locations.
- Working proficiency in Japanese business communication (JLPT N2 or higher).
