Amazon is hiring Transportation Operations Managers to oversee transportation operations across multiple sites within a defined region. The role supports a fast-growing, deadline-focused environment where the ability to improve processes, guide teams, and maintain strong operational performance is essential. Amazon’s scale includes distributing more than a billion shipments annually, so this position plays an important part in keeping logistics efficient and customer-focused.
What you will do
- Manage transportation operations across several sites in a designated region.
- Lead and support Transportation Area Managers at individual sites to improve logistics efficiency.
- Own regional safety, quality, performance, and customer experience outcomes.
- Carry out management duties in line with company policies and procedures.
- Drive operational targets and ensure goals are met or exceeded.
- Plan strategically, forecast needs, evaluate performance, recognize achievements, coach employees, solve issues, and handle staffing requirements.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to support growth and career progression.
- Share effective practices across shifts and across the wider network.
- Be prepared to travel up to 50% when needed.
- Work flexible hours based on business needs, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
What Amazon is looking for
- At least 3 years of experience managing employees and performance.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent background, or 2+ years of blue badge/FTE Amazon experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred experience
- 1+ year of experience working with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean methods.
- Background managing a team of 2 or more salaried employees and 70 or more indirect employees.
- Experience designing, leading, and rolling out improvements using Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma approaches.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven record of meeting or outperforming department goals.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution settings.
Compensation and benefits
The base pay range for this Orlando, FL position is USD 91,000 to USD 136,500 per year. Final pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base salary, the package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
