Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is being presented on behalf of a partner employer that handles its own application review and hiring steps. The partner company, Nebius, is hiring a Transportation Logistics Specialist in the United States.

The position is central to the movement of hardware across a global AI infrastructure network. You will manage end-to-end logistics for valuable IT assets such as servers, racks, and data center equipment. The scope includes both domestic transportation within the United States and international freight movements, especially between Asia and the United States. The goal is to keep critical infrastructure moving safely, on time, and at controlled cost in support of large-scale AI operations.

This role works closely with engineering, procurement, and data center teams in a fast-moving, detail-oriented environment where precision, reliability, and ongoing process improvement are essential.

Key accountabilities

  • Run full-cycle logistics for IT hardware, covering domestic US shipments, inbound overseas freight—particularly from Asia—and outbound moves when needed, while ensuring deliveries arrive on time and without damage.
  • Handle carrier sourcing, shipment booking, tracking, and execution across ocean, air, and ground transport, while resolving delays, exceptions, and routing issues proactively.
  • Manage reverse logistics for RMAs and RMS processes, coordinating effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Keep shipment status visible, preserve chain-of-custody records, and maintain accurate in-transit inventory data in logistics systems.
  • Create backup routing plans and support urgent or time-sensitive shipments when operational needs require it.
  • Work with data center stakeholders so logistics timelines align with staging, deployment plans, and readiness requirements.
  • Ensure transportation activities comply with US and international regulations, while upholding service levels, KPIs, and security expectations with logistics partners.
  • Improve processes through performance analysis, root-cause investigation, cost tracking, and standardization efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics, preferably in technology, data center, or hardware-related supply chains.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate domestic and international freight, including LTL, FTL, air, and ocean movements, together with carriers, 3PLs, and freight forwarders.
  • Practical experience with reverse logistics workflows, including RMA and RMS handling and returns processing.
  • Working familiarity with logistics tools such as TMS platforms, Jira, or similar shipment tracking and documentation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of US DOT rules, customs clearance, import/export compliance, and international shipping processes.
  • Background in transporting high-value, heavy, or sensitive equipment such as servers and data center hardware.
  • Excellent organizational ability with a high level of accuracy in documentation and details.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and operational groups.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced setting.
  • Must be based in the United States, with East Coast or Midwest time zones preferred for global coordination.

Benefits

  • Pay that is competitive and aligned with experience and location.
  • Room to grow professionally within a rapidly expanding AI infrastructure business.
  • Flexible working arrangements that support balance between work and personal life.
  • Exposure to global transportation activity and international supply chains.
  • A collaborative, high-performing culture focused on innovation.
  • The chance to contribute to impactful, large-scale AI infrastructure initiatives.
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse, international team.
