Role Overview
This newly created Transport Planner position sits within the supply chain team and supports the State Planning Hub in scheduling and planning bulky deliveries for customers and stores. The role provides end-to-end visibility over last-mile activity and is responsible for tracking bulky-item movements while managing logistics and customer-related coordination.
Key Duties
- Allocate routes to carriers and provide ongoing support to delivery teams while monitoring progress on the road.
- Prepare end-of-day reporting and share feedback with DSPs on productivity and customer service, while escalating issues to the DSPs and manager.
- Review daily exceptions and special activities submitted by Delivery Service Providers for approval to ensure billing is processed correctly by the system.
- Track orders, keep customers informed about delays or order issues, and manage customer communication promptly.
- Work closely with the Customer Service team by handling customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
Roster and Working Conditions
This position follows a Sunday to Thursday roster from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The role may also require flexibility to cover leave and public holidays.
What You Need
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics or a closely related area.
- Solid computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and warehouse systems such as Oracle, SAP, and AS400, as well as transport management systems.
- Ability to adapt to change, stay resilient when facing challenges, and reprioritise work in a proactive continuous-improvement mindset.
- Previous exposure to transport planning and scheduling is preferred, though not essential.
- Experience in retail and/or e-commerce environments is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Availability to work Sunday to Thursday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
