Role Overview
The Transition Specialist - Tax Manager is tasked with leading significant project phases concerning tax and finance transitions within a global context. This role demands collaboration in setting up and monitoring implementation plans, enforcing process controls, risk assessments, training, and coordinating communication with various teams to ensure successful long-term transition outcomes.
Key Duties
- Manage client-facing transitions, particularly in finance sectors like Tax and F&A, banking, preferably within Big 4 firms.
- Plan and execute detailed transition schedules including risk management and tracking of milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to fulfill transition activities timely and in client alignment.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and thorough process documentation to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide status updates and proactively address any transition challenges or delays.
- Engage stakeholders at all organizational levels to manage expectations and communication throughout the transition process.
- Develop and oversee project plans, volume ramp-ups, knowledge transfer, communication, and governance strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 9 to 14 years of overall professional experience, including at least one year in client-facing transition management roles.
- Deep expertise in transition and transformational programs within large-scale, global environments, focused on Finance or Tax.
- Project management certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, Agile, Prince2, Six Sigma, or Scrum are preferred.
- Strong abilities in risk identification and mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and independent prioritization of multiple complex projects.
- Proven experience using transition management methodologies and tools, with a preference for Microsoft Project or similar software.
- Knowledge of Tax and Finance processes is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes
- Highly motivated, results-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and quality assurance focus throughout transition phases.
- Ability to creatively resolve transition challenges and work proactively across diverse and international teams spanning different time zones.
- Experience with managed service transition tools and approaches.
