About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant specializing in Risk Consulting within the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) domain, based in Mumbai. This role involves assisting leadership in delivering ESG engagements while ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Manager/Senior Manager in daily execution of ESG projects and related tasks with adherence to established compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and development of market intelligence to advance the ESG practice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders.
  • Engage with new clients effectively and manage their expectations throughout projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide team members for improved performance and project outcomes.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Experience performing ESG Gap Assessments accompanied by well-founded, impactful recommendations.
  • In-depth understanding of ESG processes, systems, and sustainability principles.
  • Conduct climate risk evaluations aligned with TCFD guidelines.
  • Ability to perform detailed peer reviews and benchmarking exercises.
  • Strong familiarity with Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Inventories, covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Knowledge of science-based targets and decarbonization strategies.
  • Expertise in data governance encompassing people, processes, controls, and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication proficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in an ESG-focused role.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree with professional credentials in ESG, Sustainability, or international standards related to the field.

  • Confidence in delivering presentations, leading client workshops, and representing the organization in industry forums.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster and maintain diverse professional relationships.
  • Adaptability to operate effectively under pressure and evolving legislative or project demands.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities to approach challenges uniquely and effectively.
  • High numerical and literacy competence for analyzing data, conducting research, and producing insightful reports with recommendations.
