Role Summary
This full-time remote position involves converting audio and video recordings into accurate written documents. The role calls for strong grammar, formatting, and quality-control skills, along with the ability to keep transcripts clear, consistent, and on schedule.
Core Duties
- Turn spoken content from audio or video files into clean, accurate text.
- Check transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting quality.
- Review and refine completed work to improve clarity and precision.
- Follow the specified style rules and documentation standards provided for each assignment.
- Deliver completed transcripts within assigned deadlines.
- Coordinate with team members when needed to maintain consistency across documents.
Qualifications
- Strong capability in audio and video transcription, with fast and accurate typing.
- Solid command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and editing.
- Good organization and time management to handle tight turnaround times.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Comfort using transcription software and related computer tools, along with basic computer literacy.
- Excellent listening ability, including understanding different accents, speech patterns, and spoken details.
- A bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Communications, or a related subject is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Prior transcription experience in legal, medical, or corporate settings is considered an advantage.
