Role overview
The Training/Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for supporting quality assurance activities across training, assessment, compliance, and competence within ER Training. The role works alongside the Quality Assurance Manager to strengthen internal assurance processes, confirm workforce competence, and promote ongoing improvement through recognized standards and effective working practices.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain high standards across quality assurance activities and outcomes.
- Carry out audits and inspections to verify compliance with assurance requirements.
- Support preparations for external audit activity.
- Review and assure training and assessment methods, materials, and related practices.
- Monitor and assure the performance of trainers and assessors.
- Prepare accurate reports and ensure they are submitted before deadlines.
- Implement quality improvement actions through Quality Improvement Plans.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for better performance.
- Maintain company quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance visits across departments and document evidence of performance quality.
- Build action plans with realistic targets to support continuous improvement.
- Develop and refresh quality procedures in coordination with departments.
- Support all elements of the ER competence management system.
- Contribute to the evolution of ER practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the quality of continuous professional development for licensed trainers and assessors.
Qualifications and experience
The position calls for a recognized qualification in internal quality assurance or internal auditing. A college diploma and IQA Level 4 are specified requirements. Applicants should bring at least 5 years of proven experience in a quality assurance function. Strong computer skills, familiarity with modern software packages, and experience with e-learning tools are expected. Oracle experience is preferred.
Additional skills and background
Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Prior exposure to rail operations and maintenance is preferred, along with a solid understanding of training processes, systems, and common operational challenges. The role also requires strong communication, self-management, teamwork, conscientiousness, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

The role must be performed in line with company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to support internal assurance, maintain quality governance, and contribute to consistent improvements in training and competence processes.
