Training Manager - Food and Nutrition

Overview

Xanitos, Inc. is seeking a Mid Shift Training Manager for the Food & Nutrition Department at Kaiser Permanente located in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and leading effective training programs requiring innovative strategies, consistent communication, prompt follow-up, and collaborative teamwork with management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, organize, implement, and document comprehensive new-hire training covering hospital orientation, department orientation, and practical job training.
• Coordinate and deliver training sessions for small clinics or groups on essential topics such as MSDS, RACE, Infection Control, Body Mechanics, Safety, Domestic Violence, Age-Specific Protocols, Hospital and Department Policies & Procedures, plus any other mandated training for both new and current employees.
• Manage cross-training and remedial training activities tailored for individuals or small groups.
• Develop and execute weekly focused training programs.
• Collaborate with management team members to plan and administer supervisory and management development initiatives.
• Support planning and delivery of hospitality training within the department.
• Customize and maintain training documentation and records as necessary.
• Create detailed site-specific training manuals.
• Produce monthly training activity reports and analyze training statistics.
• Maintain liaison with Regional Training Manager, Corporate HR, and related training staff to stay updated on best practices.
• Provide timely notifications to supervisors and ensure coordinator relief during training periods.
• Prepare and distribute memory aids like laminated cards on critical information such as MSDS, Mission, and RACE.
• Develop and periodically review a master training schedule well in advance with management.
• Oversee the computer-based Quality Assurance program to ensure smooth operation and timely inspections.
• Coordinate user satisfaction surveys and compile findings.
• Collect and review supervision rounds and team meeting documents, reporting findings to the Department Head.
• Manage special Quality Assurance and Infection Control monitoring programs and present updates at relevant meetings.
• Ensure adequate supply of all necessary forms and materials.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in training management at an equivalent or higher level is mandatory.
• Experience in Environmental Services (EVS) within healthcare is highly desirable.
• High School diploma required; college degree or comparable professional experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong organizational skills to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
• Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership qualities.
• Familiarity with contract administration and office procedures.
• Ability to leverage workplace knowledge to fulfill objectives and goals.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000 annually, contingent upon skills, education, experience, certifications, and market conditions. Additional benefits or bonuses may apply where relevant.
