Overview
Join the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in York, in a rewarding role that supports advancing clinical research. This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to high-quality clinical trial delivery while enhancing your professional skills.
While research or pharmacy experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Candidates should be prepared to work towards achieving the level 2 Dispensing Pharmacy qualification, although those already qualified can start as Senior Pharmacy Assistants at Band 3. The role also entails participating in weekend and bank holiday rotas.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient setup of clinical trials.
- Manage stock control, including monitoring storage conditions.
- Organize, prepare, and dispense prescriptions for clinical trials.
- Process the return of medications to clinical trial sponsors.
- Coordinate with Research and Innovation teams, research groups, and external sponsors.
- Conduct monitoring visits to clinics, wards, and units beyond the pharmacy.
- Dispense discharge, inpatient, and external unit prescription requests.
- Handle dispensing of stock and named patient controlled drugs.
