Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will handle the movement, positioning, and parking of swap bodies and trailers across the company premises. The role focuses on keeping the yard organized, ensuring loading units are available where needed, and supporting smooth internal logistics operations.
Key duties
- Move, park, and position swap bodies and trailers correctly within the site.
- Deliver loading units to loading and unloading points according to dispatch instructions, using mobile devices in the yard management system.
- Remove empty and loaded loading units and place them in interim storage as required.
- Check trailers, swap bodies, yard vehicles, and trucks carefully for damage and operational safety.
- Report damage, deviations, or disruptions without delay to help maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Follow all site procedures, safety rules, and traffic regulations on the premises.
- Maintain an orderly and efficient yard layout to support clear structure and smooth flow.
- Assist with internal transport trips and vehicle transfers within the site.
- Guide external drivers and provide courteous support so their tasks can be completed safely and efficiently.
- Carry out simple documentation and feedback tasks, such as maintaining vehicle and loading-unit checklists.
What we are looking for
You should ideally have completed vocational training in logistics. A valid category CE truck licence is required. Basic knowledge of occupational safety and load securing is important, and previous experience in shunting operations or yard service is an advantage. Familiarity with swap bodies and trailers is beneficial. The role calls for an independent, well-structured, and dependable working style, combined with a strong focus on safety, quality, and cleanliness. Team spirit, flexibility, and readiness to work in shift rotations are also needed.
Shift pattern
Work is organized in both 2-shift and 4-shift systems.
