Job description
Role overview
This 2026 Trading Operations Analyst Programme is a structured six-month development path for final-year postgraduate students and recent postgraduates. It is designed to build capability quickly and prepare you for a long-term role at Susquehanna. The programme blends formal learning, practical experience, and close exposure to the trading business. From your first day, you will work on meaningful real-world problems and help support the trading function at a highly innovative financial services firm.
During the programme, you will complete four-week rotations across several Trading Operations teams, including Trade Support, Risk Operations, Stock Loan, Corporate Actions, and Settlements. Each rotation is built around real responsibility, not passive observation, and you will contribute to tasks and projects that create immediate business value. After completing the programme, you will move into a desk role where you can contribute from day one with a strong network and practical experience already in place.
About the programme
As a Trading Operations Analyst, you will gain visibility across the full trading lifecycle and develop a solid understanding of the market environment in which the business operates. The role sits at the point where trading, technology, and external counterparties meet, so you will need to take ownership, work collaboratively, and help deliver solutions that matter. Across each rotation, you will combine hands-on work with structured learning and live project work that supports the wider business.
The company welcomes applicants from a range of academic backgrounds. A strong candidate may have completed an undergraduate degree in a STEM subject such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering, together with a postgraduate qualification in Finance or a related field. The combination of analytical thinking and financial knowledge is considered a major strength for this role.
What the role involves
- Rotate through core Trading Operations teams and build practical understanding of each desk.
- Handle live operational work and contribute to projects with direct impact on trading activity.
- Work closely with traders, technology teams, and external counterparties.
- Develop a broad understanding of the end-to-end trading process.
- Use structured training and project work to strengthen both technical and business skills.
- Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution and delivery.
What we are looking for
- You are a strong problem-solver who enjoys working through complex challenges and finding effective solutions.
- You communicate well, build relationships easily, and are comfortable sharing ideas and listening to others.
- You are ambitious and motivated to achieve goals across academic, professional, or personal areas.
- You are numerically minded and use logic, reasoning, and data to support decisions.
- You are curious about financial markets and want to improve how operational processes work.
- You bring an analytical academic background, typically a STEM degree paired with a postgraduate qualification in Finance, Financial Mathematics, or a similar subject.
- You are a soon-to-be or recent graduate, ready to start in early September 2026.
Training, support, and culture
You will be supported through an in-house education programme that includes regular seminars on the business, products, and technology tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python. A mentor from the Trading Operations team will guide you during each rotation, and you will also be paired with a buddy who has previously completed the programme.
The environment is collaborative, casual, and focused on continuous development. Employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership, and have a real voice in how the work is done.
Perks and workplace benefits
- Free onsite catering.
- A games room.
- A large in-house gym.
- Office location in the heart of Ireland’s Financial Services Centre, around a 10-minute walk from Dublin city centre.
Interview process
The hiring process is: application, recruiter interview, interview, final interview, and offer.
