Job description
Role overview
An established long/short equities hedge fund is seeking a trading-focused associate or analyst to support trade execution and related operations. This is a strong early-career opening for recent graduates who want to build a path in trading and execution within a buy-side environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support senior traders and portfolio managers with execution-related tasks.
- Prepare reports covering portfolio risk, positioning, attribution, and profit and loss.
- Handle daily trade processing and reconcile trades using the execution platform and portfolio management system.
- Carry out transaction cost analysis to evaluate execution quality and best execution outcomes.
- Work through day-to-day trade issues with execution brokers and prime brokers.
- Contribute to trading, operations, and other ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
- Genuine interest in hedge funds, equities, financial markets, and trading.
- Working understanding of listed equities, equity swaps, futures, options, and FX hedging.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with tools such as Python and VBA.
- A degree in economics, finance, accountancy, engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- Suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience.
