Role Overview

We are recruiting a full-time Trade Team Member for our Timber & Building department, covering both the Trade Counter and Timber Yard. The position involves a 40-hour weekly roster including Sundays with shifts ending at 7pm. This role is customer-facing and hands-on, requiring teamwork and product accuracy in a fast-paced environment. It demands physical activity including regular manual handling of timber and building materials within an outdoor warehouse setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist trade and retail customers with timber and building material needs
• Accurately process orders and transactions at the trade counter
• Provide practical advice and product recommendations
• Pick, pack, and prepare trade orders in the timber yard
• Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries alongside the yard team
• Operate within the drive-through trade area
• Replenish stock and maintain merchandising quality
• Keep the work areas, both counter and yard, clean, organized, and professional

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in timber, building supplies, hardware retail, or related trade environments is essential
• Good knowledge of timber and building products, gained through trade, construction, DIY, or hardware experience
• A current full New Zealand driver’s license is required; assistance to obtain an F endorsement is available
• Strong numerical proficiency with measurements, quantities, and product calculations
• Confidence in working both at the trade counter and in the timber yard
• Clear and pragmatic communication skills
• Consistent attendance and a robust work ethic
• Ability to work a fixed 40-hour roster including Sundays
