About the Role
An international energy trading firm is scaling up its petrochemicals trading operations. This position involves handling the comprehensive operational processes involved in physical petrochemical cargo trading, collaborating closely with traders, operators, and external partners throughout the entire trade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily physical operations related to petrochemical trades, overseeing cargo execution from contract finalization through to financial settlement.
- Coordinate import and export logistics, monitor vessel schedules, and support loading and unloading activities compliant with contractual and operational standards.
- Communicate effectively with surveyors, terminal operators, shipowners, agents, and trading counterparties to facilitate smooth cargo movements.
- Assist in preparing and handling shipping and banking-related documentation critical to trade execution.
- Track laytime and demurrage exposures to manage cost implications effectively.
- Update operational and trading systems with accurate and timely trade data.
- Collaborate with commercial, shipping, risk management, and finance teams to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
Candidate Requirements
- At least four years of practical experience in physical trading operations within the petrochemicals or broader energy trading sector.
- Familiarity supporting trading desks dealing with petrochemical or naphtha-related products is preferable.
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive approach when navigating a dynamic trading environment involving multiple stakeholders.
