Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position is for a Track Protection Worker / Railway Flagman in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario. The role is centered on protecting workers and rail traffic during track maintenance and construction work, monitoring for approaching trains, clearing crews when required, and keeping communication lines open with railway operators. The position also involves setting up equipment, following safety procedures, and supporting overall work-zone compliance.
Qualifications
- You should know railway safety rules and operating procedures.
- Prior experience in track maintenance or a similar environment would be an advantage.
- Strong verbal communication is needed to pass along instructions and brief the crew clearly.
- You must be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Careful attention to detail and constant situational awareness are important.
- You should be able to follow railway compliance requirements and standards.
- Experience working in team settings, especially in demanding or safety-sensitive situations, is valuable.
- The role requires physical capability for long periods of standing and handling equipment.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence is mandatory.
