Job Overview
This position requires leading and promoting guest activities safely and enjoyably at a destination operated by Carnival Corporation. The Tour Guide will provide guests with clear instructions and support to ensure confident and safe participation. Responsibilities include assisting with setup, managing group logistics, and maintaining a fun, engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tours according to schedule, warmly welcoming guests and following scripted guidelines.
- Deliver clear instructions and commentary to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Engage guests with interesting facts and interactive elements throughout the tour.
- Monitor guest involvement, answer questions, and address concerns quickly.
- Encourage guests to complete satisfaction surveys post-tour.
- Promote additional services and activities professionally and courteously.
- Inspect and prepare all tour equipment to ensure safety and readiness.
- Maintain organized storage and report any equipment damage or shortages promptly.
- Enforce safety standards and conduct safety briefings especially for water or adventure activities.
- Follow environmental protection policies and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Support activity area maintenance and assist team members during peak times or events.
- Perform any other duties assigned to maintain smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of basic education or equivalent experience; additional training in hospitality or related fields advantageous.
- Mandatory First Aid and CPR certification.
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness, including the ability to lift at least 10 pounds and stand or walk on sand for extended durations.
- Competence in riding bikes, kayaking, using fishing equipment, and handling live animals.
- No susceptibility to motion sickness.
- Capability to work outdoors under the sun for long periods, sometimes standing for prolonged stretches.
- Strong customer service orientation, along with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset and multi-tasking abilities.
- Effective planning and coordination, especially under tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work varied shifts at different destination locations.
