Job description

Role overview

NTUC First Campus is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist to work alongside the Senior Manager in shaping, rolling out, and overseeing the organisation’s compensation, benefits, and recognition programmes. The role is central to building a rewards approach that helps attract, retain, and inspire high-performing talent while remaining aligned with business priorities.

The successful candidate should bring strong analytical thinking, practical experience in rewards work, and a genuine interest in improving the employee experience through well-designed programmes.

Total rewards strategy

  • Create and maintain total rewards programmes that support business objectives and reflect the organisation’s values.
  • Carry out regular market reviews to keep compensation and benefits offerings competitive.
  • Work with HR leadership to connect rewards initiatives with wider talent management efforts.
  • Offer informed recommendations to leaders on pay strategy, benefit improvements, and recognition plans.

Annual appraisal and promotion cycles

  • Lead the annual performance appraisal process, ensuring it follows organisational goals, policies, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with HR Partners and other key stakeholders to support fair and consistent performance evaluation.
  • Continuously refine the appraisal process to improve employee experience and outcomes.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to run a smooth promotion process that aligns with career frameworks and organisational needs.
  • Develop and maintain promotion policies, guidelines, and supporting tools to ensure promotions are well-governed and equitable.

Compensation management

  • Support annual compensation review activities, including merit adjustments, promotions, and bonus allocation.
  • Perform job evaluations, benchmark roles against the market, and review pay equity to preserve internal fairness and external competitiveness.
  • Build and implement compensation frameworks, salary structures, incentive schemes, and bonus models that support organisational goals.

Benefits administration

  • Oversee health, wellness, retirement, and other employee benefit programmes so they remain effective and cost-conscious.
  • Assess current benefits and suggest improvements based on employee input and market developments.

Stakeholder collaboration

  • Work with HR Partners and other stakeholders to implement and communicate rewards programmes effectively.
  • Serve as a trusted specialist on total rewards matters for HR teams and senior management.
  • Manage external relationships with vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure smooth programme delivery.

Analytics and compliance

  • Build and track metrics to measure how well rewards programmes are performing and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct audits to maintain accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across compensation and benefits processes.
  • Keep current with industry developments, regulatory updates, and best practices in total rewards.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is required. The role calls for prior experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards. Professional credentials such as CCP, CEBS, or SHRM-CP/SCP are an advantage.

Skills and attributes

This position requires strong knowledge of compensation design, job evaluation techniques, and benefits administration, along with a solid grasp of compliance requirements. The specialist should be comfortable working with data, preparing reports, and using HRIS platforms. Strong analytical ability, clear communication, relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and strong organisation and project management capabilities are also important.
