Job description

Role Overview

Join Amazon's Special Projects & Investigations (SPI) Threat Intelligence team in Singapore, dedicated to safeguarding millions of Amazon sellers throughout the Asia-Pacific region by proactively uncovering and countering threat actors. This team integrates AI-enhanced intelligence and deep research into dark and clear web domains to detect emerging cyber fraud schemes and abuse tactics early, well before they impact the platform and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively hunt malicious actors and fraud networks across Mandarin-speaking and broader APAC online forums targeting Amazon's selling ecosystem.
  • Lead comprehensive investigations into complex abuse activities such as seller fraud, account takeover, counterfeit operations, and platform manipulation from initial detection through actionable intelligence delivery.
  • Develop and manage AI-supported investigative workflows to enhance threat detection scalability while decreasing manual effort and increasing operational speed.
  • Create precise, clear, and actionable intelligence reports that aid enforcement, policy-making, and legal teams.
  • Utilize structured analytic methods to document attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), profile threat actors, and contribute to an evolving threat intelligence picture.
  • Cooperate with global SPI counterparts to incorporate APAC intelligence findings into a consolidated worldwide threat model and to guide proactive detection mechanisms.
  • Respond to escalated requests by partners with deep investigative insights and regional expertise for challenging cases.
  • Identify current intelligence deficiencies, formulate collection needs, and strengthen the team's proactive detection posture.

Work Environment

Your workday involves monitoring deep web forums, Telegram channels, and Mandarin online communities to identify threats early. Once threats are identified, you'll map and analyze their operational methods and actors involved, producing intelligence that informs key Amazon teams. Ongoing refinement of automation tools and workflows is integral to improving detection capabilities.

About the Team

This global group blends traditional analytic skills with AI-driven tools to dismantle fraud networks and enhance marketplace protection. We engage closely with enforcement, policy, and legal teams for swift action based on our analyses. • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in threat intelligence, fraud investigations, trust and safety, corporate intelligence, or related fields.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) for China-focused research and communications.
  • Proven ability with proactive open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigations and tracking of threat actors using advanced intelligence tools.
  • Experience utilizing AI, large language models, or automation frameworks to expedite and scale investigative and analytical tasks.
  • Skilled in producing finished intelligence summaries including analytical evaluations and risk recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with regional cybercrime and fraud landscapes, forums, and actor communities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of conveying complex information to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in e-commerce fraud, marketplace integrity, corporate intelligence, financial crime, or government/military intelligence with relevance to technology companies.
  • Academic background or coursework in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical areas.
  • Understanding of APAC fraud ecosystems, threat dynamics, and regulatory environments in Southeast Asia.
  • Expertise in dark web intelligence gathering, actor attribution, and application of structured analytic tradecraft.
  • Experience in designing or contributing to intelligence automation pipelines with scripting or workflow management tools.
  • Professional certifications in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, or data analytics.
