Role Overview

Teleport is hiring a Threat Hunter for its Defense and Intelligence team. In this role, you will build a deep understanding of the company’s cloud and internal environments, then use that knowledge to uncover active threats and shape defense strategy. You’ll work with the detection and response stack, including Panther, Wiz, Jamf Protect, and Temporal, while partnering closely with security, cloud, and IT teams to strengthen architecture and security controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Use intelligence-led methods to actively search for malicious activity in Teleport’s environment.
• Create attack hypotheses and test them against the company’s detection capabilities.
• Identify blind spots in monitoring and response coverage and turn those findings into practical improvements.
• Investigate abuse of Teleport’s platform by threat actors and identify recurring patterns that can improve prevention.

What Teleport Is Looking For

• Hands-on experience securing AWS environments.
• Prior exposure to managing or defending macOS-based corporate endpoints.
• Working knowledge of Google Workspace.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Go or Rust.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.

Hiring Process

The interview process is intended to be efficient and respectful of candidates’ time, with an emphasis on real-world evaluation rather than staged interview rounds. This role includes a take-home exercise based on actual work scenarios at Teleport, and the team will support you throughout the process. The process includes an initial 30-minute call to discuss compensation, the interview flow, and role requirements, followed by a 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager to review the take-home assignment and answer questions. Candidates then join a Slack channel and submit the challenge through GitHub.

Compensation

The listed compensation range for this position is $175,440 to $258,000.
