Role Overview

RENK is looking for a skilled Testing Engineer/Operator to be based onsite in Abu Dhabi as a key member of their Middle East team. This role is integral in validating the performance and durability of repaired and overhauled gearboxes, adhering strictly to the company's rigorous standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute stand and test runs on gearboxes to detect defects before and after repair or installation.
  • Utilize test benches, diagnostic instruments, and specialized equipment to maintain precision and trustworthiness in results.
  • Document and prepare detailed test reports to support the commercial handling processes of repair and installation jobs.
  • Identify and fix issues in both electronic and mechanical systems by leveraging strong analytical capabilities.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, drawings, and manuals to facilitate testing and maintenance activities.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients to ensure effective communication during testing operations.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and maintain high quality standards throughout tasks.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or vocational certification such as mechatronics or automotive technician.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical repair or technical roles, ideally involving gearboxes or engines, and preferably within the defense sector.
  • Skilled in operating and troubleshooting testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Understand the operational principles of mechanical parts and apply this knowledge practically.
  • Comfortable with technical documentation, creating lists, and reporting using standard office software like Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic proficiency in English to communicate with stakeholders including customers and manufacturers.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to following safety and quality regulations.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with defense-related gearbox or engine technologies.
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing processes, particularly assembly or operation of machinery.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills for complex mechanical and electronic challenges.
  • Practical experience with specialized tools used in mechanical repair and testing.
  • Additional language abilities enhancing communication scope.
