About the Role
This position is for a Night Shift Leader at Tesco, located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. The role involves managing the store during night shifts, ensuring a smooth operation that meets customer needs. Hours of work are scheduled between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with a minimum guaranteed weekly commitment of 16 hours, though reduced hours of at least 12 per week may also be accommodated upon request. Shift schedules are provided with three weeks' notice and flexibility is welcomed where availability closely matches the required hours.
The starting pay rate is £15.59 per hour, with an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour for work done between midnight and 6:00 AM. Other location-based additional pay may apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate store team during night shifts to maintain a clean, well-stocked, and high-standard retail environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with customers, ensuring their shopping needs are fulfilled.
- Take charge of opening and closing the store, handling duty coverage and store safety decisions.
- Support and encourage team members by providing coaching and feedback, maintaining workplace safety and compliance.
- Lead store improvements and remove obstacles to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Assist with planning and executing seasonal, community, and charity initiatives.
- Communicate store updates and important information promptly to team members.
- Maintain awareness of store performance metrics and support managers in implementing improvements.
- Promote an inclusive and positive atmosphere within the team.
Candidate Requirements
