Job description

About Tandem Diabetes Care

Tandem Diabetes Care develops groundbreaking solutions that improve the lives of people living with diabetes, their families, and healthcare providers. We focus on innovation, putting people first, and taking a rigorous, no-shortcuts approach that has positioned us as a leader in diabetes technology. Our flagship products include the Tandem Mobi system and the t:slim X2 insulin pump equipped with Control-IQ+, a cutting-edge predictive algorithm that automates insulin delivery.

We are driven by a human-centered philosophy, designing and supporting technologies that profoundly impact those who use insulin, many of whom are part of our own team or their loved ones are.

Role Overview

This role is more than just sales; it is an opportunity to act as a trusted clinical advisor to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers. You will leverage your deep clinical knowledge to promote and support the adoption of innovative insulin pump therapies, while nurturing meaningful, enduring relationships within your designated territory in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and consistently exceed sales objectives within the assigned region.
  • Develop and sustain trusted partnerships with endocrinologists, diabetes educators, key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinics, and other healthcare stakeholders.
  • Conduct compelling product presentations, training, and education for healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance on Type 1 diabetes management and insulin pump technology including Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) systems and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM).
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to enhance Tandem’s presence in the diabetes care community.
  • Support pump trainers through certification and recertification processes.
  • Participate in local and national medical conferences, professional events, and trade shows.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Customer Support, to ensure superior customer experiences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all activities using CRM systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality and data protection policies.

Location and Travel

Vacancies are open across multiple territories in Germany, including:

  • South Germany (Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Southern Hesse)
  • West Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Northern Hesse)
  • East Germany (Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia)
  • North Germany (Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania)

Candidates are preferably residents within the targeted sales region and should be willing to travel frequently within their territory.

Candidate Profile

  • Several years’ experience in clinical sales, medical technology sales, medical device consulting, or diabetes care.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin pump therapy, hybrid closed-loop systems, and CGM technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish long-lasting trust with medical professionals and patients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with a structured and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with CRM and digital tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Fluent German language skills and good command of English.
  • Preferred qualifications include certified diabetes educator (DDG), nurse, dietitian, or similar relevant credentials.
  • Experience working with KOLs and intricate client structures is advantageous.
  • Personal connection to diabetes care or prior experience in endocrinology is desirable.

What We Offer

  • A meaningful career that directly impacts the quality of life for people with diabetes.
  • Opportunity to work with pioneering technologies in the diabetes sector.
  • High degree of autonomy and creative control in your role.
  • Flat organizational structure with swift decision-making processes.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Attractive career development and international growth opportunities.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing national and international training programs.
  • Flexible work arrangements designed for a modern field sales setting.
  • A company culture that prioritizes innovation, teamwork, and personal development.
