About Rebecca School
Rebecca School serves students aged 3 to 21 with neurodevelopmental delays, utilizing the DIRFloortime4 model to promote respect, meaningful relationships, and emotional growth, supporting each student's individual connection and development.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated, innovative, and adaptable Art Teacher to provide maternity leave coverage. This role involves working with a diverse student population across age groups and ability levels, delivering art instruction designed to nurture creativity, confidence, and personal expression through visual arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging art lessons that are developmentally suited to student needs and capabilities.
- Modify teaching methods and materials to suit diverse sensory, motor, and learning needs.
- Maintain a supportive, well-organized, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with other educators and therapists to ensure art instruction aligns with the DIRFloortime4 approach.
- Ensure safety and proper organization of the art space and supplies.
- Work schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Special Education, or a similar discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
- Prior experience with children who have special needs and/or autism is highly desired.
- Knowledge of sensory-sensitive instructional strategies and differentiated teaching techniques.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, calmness, and empathy.
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $57,000 to $88,000 per year.
