About The Role
LPI Group is seeking General Operatives and Lightning Protection Technicians for its global projects. Reporting to the project manager and site supervisor, the Lightning Protection Technician will be responsible for the daily planning, coordination, and execution of LPI projects. The primary objective of this role is to install lightning protection and earthing systems on various structures across private, public, industrial, commercial, and data centre sectors. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the company's success and involves international travel for up to 75% of the working time to support overseas project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Install lightning protection and earthing systems on Data Centres and a variety of tall structures, adhering to pre-designed schemes, drawings, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Perform upgrades to existing lightning protection systems according to specified instructions.
- Complete all required company paperwork accurately, including point of work risk assessments, job sheets, marked-up drawings, material schedules, and timesheets, ensuring timely submission to the office-based team.
- Communicate effectively on-site with clients or project managers, ensuring professional representation of the company at all times.
- Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring all work is conducted safely and compliantly.
What You'll Need
- Demonstrated experience in the construction industry or a comparable environment.
- Electrical experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience working on commercial and industrial projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Solid understanding and adherence to health and safety standards and protocols, along with familiarity with the EQHS Management System.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages such as German, Dutch, French, or Spanish is advantageous but not essential.
- Possession of Safe Pass, Manual Handling training, Working At Height training, and IPAF training is required.
