Role Summary

This position supports airside operations by helping coordinate daily activities, maintaining safe movement across operational areas, assisting with ground support equipment readiness, and contributing to compliance with airport safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support aircraft movement activities by helping guide aircraft to and from gates, taxiways, and runways in line with air traffic control instructions.
  • Track aircraft positioning, communicate with pilots and ground teams, and help close operational issues quickly.
  • Assist in managing ground support equipment such as tugs, baggage carts, and refuelling vehicles, and help coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor the availability and working condition of equipment needed for smooth aircraft handling operations.
  • Contribute to safety compliance by supporting audits, following safety procedures, and helping deliver safety awareness or training activities.
  • Observe airside operations for potential hazards and assist in taking corrective action without delay.
  • Support emergency preparedness by helping implement response plans, participating in drills, and coordinating communication with emergency services.
  • Assist with evacuation-related activities and provide support to people affected during emergencies.
  • Help coordinate runway and taxiway inspections, repair scheduling, and debris or hazard removal.
  • Work with maintenance teams to ensure operational surfaces remain safe and meet required standards.

Stakeholders

Internal: Duty Manager - Airside Operations, Air Traffic Control, Ground Handling Teams, Terminal Operations Team, Facilities Team, Airport Security, Maintenance and Engineering Department, Customer Service Teams, IT Department, Safety and Compliance Department, and Marketing and Communications Department.

External: Airlines, regulatory authorities such as FAA and ICAO, ground handling service providers, ATC, local emergency services, passengers, cargo operators, fuel suppliers, vendors, and contractors.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Experience Required

Candidates should have 2 to 3 years of experience in airside or ground operations, including supervisory exposure.
