Role overview

This role leads a varied team delivering family and relationship services, domestic violence counselling and support, men’s behaviour change programs, and youth intervention services. The main objective is to make sure programs are delivered to a high standard, contractual obligations are met, and the work remains professional, ethical and aligned with Centrecare’s ethos and practice.

You will provide practical guidance and leadership to staff supporting clients with complex needs. The ideal candidate will bring a therapeutic, evidence-based approach and experience across family relationships, domestic violence and staff supervision.

Key duties

• Guide staff on complex matters and, where needed, help co-mediate.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including participation in meetings with funding bodies.
• Prepare reports, review data and statistics, and contribute to management and board reporting.
• Conduct regular supervision sessions and oversee group case reviews.
• Deliver training to team members on internal systems and processes.

What success in this role looks like

The organisation is seeking a confident leader and communicator who can work independently while also partnering effectively with Senior Management on long-term objectives. The right person will be able to mentor others and take a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Required experience and capabilities

You will need recognised tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Psychology or an equivalent discipline, along with proven ability to lead within a multidisciplinary environment. A solid understanding of community services and service delivery is essential, as is experience in case management, report writing, tender writing and coordinating client services.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, together with knowledge of culturally appropriate and strengths-based practice. You must also be able to work within policies and procedures, and have a current Western Australia driver’s licence plus a reliable vehicle for travel when required.

Kalgoorlie is about 600 km from Perth and offers a strong community atmosphere, affordable housing and access to the outback. It is roughly a 50-minute flight or a six-hour scenic drive from Perth, making it suitable for lifestyle flexibility and long weekends. A zone allowance is available to eligible employees working in the Goldfields region.
