About the Role

Amazon, a global leader dedicated to becoming the earth's most customer-focused company, seeks a Team Lead to join its Transportation division. This position involves collaborating extensively with fulfillment centers, sort centers, last-mile logistics partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure flawless management of line haul operations within Amazon's middle mile network. The Team Lead will serve as the primary point of contact for all operational escalations, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve challenges and implement preventive measures. Alongside managing a team of Process Associates, the role includes spearheading various operational improvement initiatives such as VRID hygiene, accruals enhancements, in-transit loss reduction, fostering safety culture among drivers, truck utilization optimization, and managing projects like Totes and PFS at the zonal level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as carrier manager overseeing coordination with Network Operations Center and carriers.
  • Drive and support GB development projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance operational metrics including truck utilization, carrier punctuality, safety incident analysis, and accident investigations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations such as Bridge for Weekly Business Review (WBR).
  • Conduct ad-hoc planning, data analysis, and coordination with stakeholders to minimize in-transit losses.
  • Collaborate with Safety teams to advance yard and road safety protocols.
  • Lead R4D training programs and promote adoption among carriers.
  • Manage procurement processes including MR purchase orders and invoice query resolution.
  • Maintain operational documentation like distance annexures and route codes.
  • Prepare accruals and support carrier experience improvements through R4C adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-registration and LTR coding requirements.
  • Operationalize load boards, self-invoicing, and driver assignments efficiently.
  • Align vehicle fleet planning with multiple stakeholders including FC, SC, LM, and SF teams.
  • Generate input data for automated planning tools and optimize route plans based on feasibility analyses.
  • Coordinate with NDC for truck filter changes and conduct lane-level cube and transit time analyses.
  • Manage specialized operations such as Prime Now and WHT.
  • Plan fleet allocations based on forecasting data and manage accrual preparations.
  • Oversee launch activities for new arcs, SCs, FCs, and stations including pilot runs and feasibility assessments.
  • Execute event-related activities like ART events, training, and peak ramp-ups.
  • Implement vehicle re-routing strategies to maximize vehicle utilization and manage in-transit breakdown recovery with necessary logistics and mechanic arrangements.
  • Contribute to Vendor Control Tower operations and manpower coordination.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year experience in customer-facing roles within warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in English language (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and its applications.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
