Job description
Role overview
This Finance position is based in Shannon and reports into the tax function. The role supports the VP Tax in overseeing the company’s tax responsibilities and maintaining compliance with domestic and international tax rules.
What you will do
- Handle tax filing, reporting, and payment obligations accurately and within required timelines across applicable jurisdictions.
- Contribute to annual tax provisioning and quarterly tax reporting by preparing tax computations, provisions, returns, and supporting schedules, as well as booking tax provision journals and reconciling tax balances for reliable financial statement reporting.
- Help manage corporate tax exposure by tracking tax authority communications, spotting issues early, and coordinating responses across jurisdictions.
- Keep up with legislative and regulatory changes, evaluate how they may affect the business, and support the rollout of any process or compliance updates needed.
- Take part in tax reviews for leasing and transaction activity, including assessing international tax implications, liaising with external advisers, and supporting the management of related tax risks and exposures.
- Look for ways to improve tax processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency within the tax function.
- Serve as a main contact for internal and external auditors by providing information, documentation, analysis, and prompt responses to audit questions.
- Assist the wider Finance team with tax-related and finance-related work as needed.
Skills, knowledge, and expertise
Essential:
- AITI qualification is required; ACA or ACCA qualifications would be an added advantage.
- Between 1 and 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a tax role.
- Hands-on tax accounting experience.
- Strong grasp of corporate tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Preparedness to travel when needed to work with external tax advisers.
- Advanced ability with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desired:
- Experience in the aviation leasing industry.
- Working knowledge of US corporate tax.
- Ability to understand and apply technical tax concepts.
