Job description
Job Summary
Join PetroChina International (Singapore) as an Accountant supporting upstream oil and gas operations through comprehensive financial management. This position involves overseeing financial reporting, joint venture accounting, budgeting, cash flow, tax compliance, and statutory reporting, while collaborating with management, operational teams, joint venture partners, and headquarters. The role offers substantial impact on the company's financial stability, compliance, and strategic growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle full-cycle accounting duties including monthly and yearly financial closings, ensuring accurate financial statements and management reports for subsidiaries.
- Compile and deliver financial reports to management teams, E&P units, and corporate headquarters, facilitating subsidiary reporting and consolidation.
- Prepare audit documentation, statutory financial reports, tax returns, complying with all mandatory regulations and reporting standards.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions, manage billings between entities, and maintain precise accounting records and internal controls.
- Oversee expenditure verification, enforce correct cost allocations, and manage joint venture accounting activities, including tracking cash calls and adherence to authorized AFE limits.
- Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process, including preparing, consolidating, and assisting management with budget reviews.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, forecast cash flows, reconcile cash balances, and maintain fixed asset registries for subsidiaries.
- Review financial documents written in Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Melayu.
- Generate basic financial reports in Chinese for submission to headquarters.
- Serve as liaison with management, joint venture partners, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders, performing additional tasks to advance business goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of four years relevant experience in auditing or accounting roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP S/4Hana and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of independent work and managing tight deadlines.
- Good communication abilities, capable of interacting with auditors and regulatory authorities, especially in Indonesia and China.
