Job description

About the Company

IKO Industries Ltd. is a Canadian-owned and operated leader in roofing and building materials manufacturing, with production facilities located around the world. The company has earned long-standing success through its commitment to quality, integrity, and trustworthiness, and it continues to grow by hiring people who share those values.

About the Role

IKO is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to help attract, assess, and hire strong talent in support of business growth and operational requirements. This role manages recruitment end to end for a variety of positions, with a strong focus on manufacturing facilities across Canada. The position calls for creative sourcing, close partnership with hiring managers and HR Business Partners, and a smooth onboarding experience for selected candidates. The successful candidate will represent the company professionally, strengthen the employer brand, and contribute to a positive candidate journey throughout the hiring process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should bring at least 5 years of talent acquisition experience, preferably in a durable goods manufacturing setting. A post-secondary background in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline is required. Strong experience in high-volume hiring, business partnering, and communication is essential. The role also calls for a service-oriented approach, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and comfort using various sourcing channels such as social media, LinkedIn, Indeed, and similar platforms. Experience with Workday HCM or another HRIS system would be an advantage. The ability to influence senior hiring managers and offer strategic recruitment guidance is important, along with strong organization and adaptability in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete hiring process for assigned roles, from intake discussions with hiring managers through sourcing, testing, phone screening, interviews, and offer coordination.
  • Drive talent acquisition efforts that build a diverse candidate pipeline, especially for hard-to-fill and high-volume manufacturing positions across Canada.
  • Use modern recruiting tools and proactive search methods to identify candidates and develop talent pools.
  • Prepare competitive offers and make sure selected candidates complete required testing and background checks.
  • Track and evaluate recruitment metrics to meet hiring targets and ensure accountability for both self and hiring managers.
  • Advise and influence senior hiring leaders on recruitment best practices and strategic hiring decisions.
  • Assess current hiring practices and introduce new approaches that improve recruitment speed and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to programs and initiatives focused on talent acquisition, retention, employer branding, and recruitment best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR Business Partners on talent acquisition matters as needed.
  • Represent IKO in a professional manner and help ensure every candidate has a positive experience, regardless of outcome.
  • Support additional HR and talent acquisition projects as needed to strengthen overall HR strategy.

Benefits

IKO offers a workplace where employees are valued, supported, and given opportunities to grow. The company provides professional development, ongoing training, and skill-building opportunities to help employees stay at the forefront of the industry. A competitive compensation package, comprehensive health care coverage, and a progressive, challenging environment are part of the offering. The culture emphasizes teamwork, integrity, loyalty, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose.

Equal Opportunity

IKO Industries Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where diversity is respected. All qualified candidates are considered without discrimination based on race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, or disability. The company welcomes applicants with disabilities and provides accommodations on request during the hiring process to ensure an accessible and fair experience.
