Job Overview and Duties
Join Canvas as a Talent Acquisition Specialist to oversee and enhance the entire recruitment cycle, from posting positions to coordinating onboarding activities. Collaborate closely with hiring managers to grasp staffing demands, providing expert advice on crafting job descriptions, candidate profiles, and recruitment strategies.
Utilize proactive sourcing methods such as leveraging job boards, social media, networking channels, and developing talent pipelines to attract exceptional candidates. Conduct application screenings and preliminary interviews, ensuring candidates meet role-specific criteria and align with organizational standards.
Manage interview scheduling and sustain clear, ongoing communication with candidates throughout the hiring process. Keep the applicant tracking system (ATS) data accurate and current, including preparing recruitment metrics and trend analyses. Ensure strict adherence to federal hiring laws and internal policies, particularly those relevant to government contracting.
Represent Canvas at career fairs, recruitment events, and community outreach programs, promoting a positive and inclusive candidate experience reflecting Canvas's values and culture. Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives by sourcing candidates from varied talent pools and fostering unbiased hiring practices.
Continuously evaluate recruitment procedures, offering recommendations based on recruiting trends, time-to-fill metrics, and candidate feedback.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years in talent acquisition or recruitment roles.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities to establish trusted relationships across teams.
- Proficient in using applicant tracking systems; familiarity with Workday is advantageous.
- Proven skill in managing high-volume job requisitions while maintaining outstanding candidate engagement.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities with attention to detail and aptitude for multitasking.
- A proactive, goal-oriented approach with enthusiasm for linking candidates to rewarding careers.
- Experience working within government-contracting hiring settings preferred.
- Competency in analyzing recruitment data to identify trends and suggest actionable improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Workday or large-scale ATS systems.
- Recruitment experience for both technical and non-technical positions.
- Certification from SHRM or related talent acquisition credentials.
- Background in employer branding or managing recruitment marketing campaigns.
