Role overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist role supports end-to-end hiring activity and helps create a smooth experience for both candidates and hiring managers. The position also covers onboarding, staffing coordination, HR support, and workers’ compensation administration. It is based in Sanford, Florida, reports to the Staffing Manager, and requires a regular Monday-to-Friday onsite schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Handle recruiting coordination on your own, including posting jobs, reviewing candidates, arranging interviews, and monitoring the hiring workflow.
- Act as the main contact for applicants and help ensure they have a positive experience throughout the process.
- Run onboarding tasks such as orientations, I-9 and E-Verify processing, and data entry in ADP.
- Keep employee files accurate and aligned with company rules and legal requirements.
- Prepare and follow recruiting metrics such as headcount, turnover, and hiring status.
- Arrange pre-employment steps including drug testing, background checks, and other required screenings.
- Manage workers’ compensation matters, including appointment scheduling, follow-up tracking, and document maintenance.
- Provide support for HR systems, timekeeping, and employee questions with limited oversight.
- Help with HR initiatives, events, and training-related systems when needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 1–2+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or staffing is needed.
- You should be able to work independently, organize priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities are important.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams is expected.
- Prior exposure to HR platforms like ADP, E-Verify, or similar systems is an advantage.
- You must be able to perform well in a busy, deadline-focused environment.
Working arrangement
This is an onsite full-time role in Sanford, Florida. The schedule is Monday through Friday, and regular in-person presence is required. The role also calls for the ability to work independently while balancing several priorities at once.
