Job description

Role Overview

Join the Maitland City Council's Talent Acquisition team as a Talent Acquisition Officer, responsible for managing recruitment services across the organisation on a day-to-day basis. This role involves coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities including drafting job postings, screening applicants, organizing and taking part in interview panels, and overseeing offer management and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete recruitment lifecycle and collaborate with Hiring Managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Provide expert advice on recruitment strategies and selection procedures ensuring all practices comply with relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver an outstanding candidate and Hiring Manager experience through professional and responsive recruitment services.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant holds a Diploma in Human Resources or a related field, or possesses extensive Talent Acquisition experience merged with appropriate training.

Essential skills include:

  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive recruitment, including candidate screening and facilitating interviews.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Capability to prioritize heavy workloads, meet deadlines, and handle multiple competing priorities.

  • This full-time position is a temporary 12-month contract with a 35-hour workweek.
  • Salary range between $80,583 and $97,243 annually, commensurate with experience, plus 12% superannuation.
