Position Overview

This opportunity is for an experienced System Administrator located in the United Arab Emirates, offered by a partner organization managing recruitment and subsequent steps. The role suits an IT professional passionate about resolving complex technical challenges and maintaining secure, dependable, and efficient systems.

The System Administrator will support a worldwide team by overseeing devices, software, networks, and security measures across diverse IT environments. This position blends direct technical assistance, infrastructure oversight, problem-solving, and proactive process enhancement. Working remotely, you will collaborate with an international team sharing ideas to enhance technology workflows and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical support across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems for staff.
  • Install, set up, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, peripherals, and IT equipment.
  • Handle and prioritize technical support requests using ticketing tools like Jira.
  • Identify and fix hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues efficiently.
  • Manage device lifecycle processes including inventory tracking, deployment, upkeep, and replacement.
  • Administer and sustain security infrastructures such as VPNs, antivirus, mobile device management (MDM), backups, firewalls, and monitoring applications.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, security protocols, and operational standards.
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge bases.
  • Assist with network administration involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and related technologies.
  • Drive IT process improvements through automation and scripting efforts.
  • Support user access control, system configurations, and infrastructure management tasks.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 2 and 4 years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator or in comparable technical support roles.
  • Proven expertise with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN.
  • Familiarity with security tools: antivirus, firewall solutions, backup platforms, MDM, and logging utilities.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities for hardware and software challenges.
  • Experience managing tickets and maintaining updated technical documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting/automation using Bash or PowerShell is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience with Active Directory, Group Policy management, and virtualization tools such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to provide clear, professional user support.
  • Capacity to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and handle responsibilities remotely.
