Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer will oversee enterprise technology infrastructure and platforms across the organization. This role owns the strategy and operations for cloud services, networking, platform engineering, end-user computing, and cybersecurity operations, with a strong focus on reliability, security, scalability, and business continuity.

The position is centered on building a modern technology foundation that supports digital innovation, resilient operations, cost discipline, and confidence from internal and external stakeholders. The CTO will work closely with cybersecurity leadership to ensure technology is designed and managed with security built in from the start.

Strategic Leadership

  • Create and keep evolving an enterprise infrastructure and platform roadmap that aligns with business priorities, financial targets, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and cloud-native approaches.
  • Direct the delivery of hybrid environments spanning cloud, data centers, networking, storage, databases, and end-user computing.
  • Sponsor modernization programs that improve scalability, resilience, and operational productivity.

Infrastructure and Operations Management

  • Set up and sustain governance structures grounded in ITIL and Three Lines of Defense principles.
  • Own incident, change, release, and problem management workflows.
  • Ensure enterprise technology assets are managed through their full lifecycle with strong performance and reliability.
  • Lead service operations such as the service desk, on-site or field support, collaboration tools, workplace technology, and IT asset management.

Cybersecurity and Resilience

  • Oversee the operational execution of key cybersecurity controls, including SOC, IAM, vulnerability management, network security operations, and recovery/restore validation.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity activities, including backups, replication, failover, annual testing, and readiness for cyber incident response.

Platform Engineering and Innovation

  • Guide platform and data engineering capabilities, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, middleware and APIs, ERP and core application administration, data platforms, and AI/ML platforms.
  • Build in reliability, observability, automation, and security across all platforms.
  • Shape and govern AI/ML infrastructure to enable scalable model deployment, MLOps maturity, sufficient compute availability, and secure handling of data.

Financial and Vendor Management

  • Apply FinOps practices to optimize spending on cloud, AI, and infrastructure.
  • Put in place cost controls, resource optimization methods, usage monitoring, and financial accountability measures.
  • Manage key vendor and procurement relationships for infrastructure, cloud, platforms, and managed services.
  • Track vendor performance through SLA governance and risk-based evaluation.

Performance and Stakeholder Management

  • Define and monitor KPIs and KRIs tied to availability, resilience, service quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Work with executive leadership to align technology operations, cybersecurity, data strategy, and business continuity priorities.
  • Build, coach, and retain strong technology teams across multiple geographies and business units.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or MBA would be an advantage.

Experience: At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in technology infrastructure, platforms, and operations is required. Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry is preferred. The role also calls for a proven history of leading large infrastructure and platform teams across multiple locations or regions, along with strong capabilities in IT service management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational excellence.

Technical expertise: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP; hybrid infrastructure and platform engineering; networking and enterprise architecture; DevOps, MLOps, FinOps, and Site Reliability Engineering; AI/ML platforms and cloud-native technologies; and cybersecurity operations is expected.
