About the Role
ASMO is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Specialist to drive our corporate sustainability initiatives. This role involves in-depth research and data analysis to support our short and long-term sustainability objectives. The specialist will be instrumental in integrating sustainable practices within procurement operations and will act as a key liaison with external authorities on green initiatives, energy conservation, and broader sustainable programs. The goal is to establish ASMO as a recognized leader in corporate sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze data to inform and support sustainability goals and projects.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for enhancement in sustainability practices through data analysis.
- Serve as the primary contact between ASMO's Procurement department and external sustainability groups or projects.
- Cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to champion sustainable practices.
- Attend various company events, including operations, construction, and marketing, to evaluate and report on adherence to sustainability targets.
- Provide actionable recommendations for improving sustainability based on observations from events.
- Review and propose sustainable practices for procurement operations.
- Ensure the successful execution of sustainable procurement decisions and methodologies.
- Implement and monitor controls for energy, chemical, utility usage, recycling, and waste management within procurement.
- Offer suggestions for improving resource efficiency.
- Lead the creation of a sustainability education and training program for ASMO employees.
- Educate stakeholders on sustainable practices and raise organizational awareness.
- Engage with local external authorities on green initiatives, energy saving, and sustainability programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local sustainability regulations and initiatives.
- Recommend sustainable business strategies and develop plans for their assessment and implementation.
- Execute strategies aimed at continuous improvement of sustainability performance.
Knowledge and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory.
- A Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong command of both spoken and written English.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in the sustainability field.
