Role summary
ASMO is seeking a Government Relations and Public Affairs Specialist Representative to oversee government liaison activities, licensing, compliance, and public affairs work that supports day-to-day business operations and broader company goals. This role acts as the main connection point with government bodies, regulators, embassies, consulates, and other outside parties, ensuring that approvals, permits, visas, licenses, and related official processes are completed without delay.
In addition to handling regulatory and administrative matters, the position involves building strong professional relationships with officials and external stakeholders, tracking legal and policy changes, supporting stakeholder outreach, and representing the organization at official functions, conferences, and public-sector meetings.
Government relations and public affairs
- Act as the company’s main contact for government departments, regulatory bodies, embassies, consulates, and public-sector organizations.
- Build and sustain effective professional relationships with government representatives and external stakeholders.
- Attend meetings, discussions, formal visits, conferences, and interactions with government and regulatory entities on behalf of the company.
- Manage communication and official correspondence with governmental organizations.
- Assist senior leadership with stakeholder engagement, presentations, speeches, formal letters, and public affairs initiatives.
- Arrange visits and meetings for diplomatic delegations, government representatives, and VIP guests at company facilities.
- Represent the company at conferences, forums, workshops, and industry events, and share observations along with recommended follow-up actions.
Licensing, permits, and official approvals
- Oversee the application, renewal, revision, and cancellation of company licenses, permits, registrations, certifications, and government approvals needed for operations.
- Ensure commercial licenses, operational permits, event permissions, regulatory certificates, and other authorizations are renewed and processed on time.
- Coordinate with the relevant authorities to secure approvals, permits, and regulatory clearances.
- Escalate issues involving licenses, permits, visas, approvals, and compliance requirements so business operations remain uninterrupted.
- Maintain a complete tracker of licenses, permits, certificates, and expiry dates to support timely renewals and compliance.
Employee government services and immigration
- Handle employee-related government processes such as work visas, visit visas, exit and re-entry visas, iqama issuance and renewals, passport renewals, work permits, sponsorship transfers, and employee registrations or updates.
- Coordinate visa applications and renewals for employees, visitors, contractors, and business guests.
- Liaise with the appropriate authorities to complete sponsorship transfers for locally hired employees.
- Respond to employee queries related to immigration, government services, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to labor, immigration, and residency regulations.
Government platforms and regulatory compliance
- Process transactions through government portals and electronic systems.
- Handle matters related to GOSI, MOI, MOFA, MHRSD, Muqeem, Qiwa, Absher, embassies, consulates, municipalities, commissions, and other authorities or regulatory agencies.
- Track updates in laws, policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.
- Guide management and internal teams on regulatory changes and how they may affect operations.
- Keep the organization compliant with all applicable government and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of Saudization reports, workforce data, and other mandated government filings.
Stakeholder management
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with strategic stakeholders, business partners, industry bodies, and external organizations.
- Build partnerships that contribute to the company’s operational and strategic priorities.
- Work with internal teams and outside parties to support compliance and business continuity.
- Serve as a reliable liaison between internal stakeholders and government entities to help resolve issues and speed up approvals.
Events and conference coordination
- Plan and coordinate corporate events, conferences, workshops, forums, official visits, and stakeholder meetings.
- Work with government bodies, embassies, and other external stakeholders to ensure events are executed successfully.
- Manage invitations, protocol requirements, logistics, and stakeholder participation.
- Support executive leadership during public-sector engagements and official events.
Reporting and administration
- Maintain accurate records of government transactions, approvals, licenses, permits, visas, and official correspondence.
- Prepare regular reports and management updates covering government relations work, licensing status, compliance issues, and stakeholder engagement.
- Keep documentation organized, secure, current, and easy to retrieve.
- Track pending submissions and follow up proactively with government entities to complete them on time.
Education and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Human Resources, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 7 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, licensing, PRO services, or a similar position is expected.
- Direct experience working with ministries, government agencies, embassies, consulates, municipalities, and regulatory authorities is required.
- Strong familiarity with labor, immigration, residency, licensing, and regulatory rules is necessary.
- Practical experience using government electronic systems and handling administrative procedures is essential.
