Role overview
The BCM Officer is responsible for strengthening ASMO’s ability to withstand disruptions and keep operations running smoothly. This role works across departments to design, roll out, and maintain business continuity plans, processes, and supporting controls.
Key responsibilities
- Support the creation, communication, and implementation of the Business Continuity Management strategy so it aligns with ASMO’s business priorities.
- Help drive BCM initiatives and ensure they fit with HSSE goals as well as wider organizational objectives.
- Work with the HSE team to build business continuity considerations into broader HSE programs, supporting a more complete approach to safety and resilience.
- Make sure BCM activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements, with a strong focus on risk management.
- Prepare and maintain BCM policies, procedures, and guidance that protect operations and assets during unexpected events.
- Contribute to a strong Safety Management System by integrating continuity planning, risk evaluation, and incident response practices.
- Coordinate ASMO’s response to incidents, emergencies, and accidents to ensure prompt action and effective reduction of continuity risks.
- Support sustainability efforts so they remain aligned with environmental responsibility commitments within the BCM framework.
- Design and conduct training on business continuity to help employees build the knowledge and capability needed for a resilient workplace.
- Create, monitor, and report BCM performance indicators and metrics to track progress and identify improvement opportunities.
- Work with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to maintain clear communication and collaboration on continuity matters.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited university, is required. A master’s degree in Business Administration, or a similar equivalent, is preferred. Candidates should have strong spoken and written English skills and at least 5 years of experience in a similar or related role.
