Job description
Overview
This role involves assisting the surveying team by performing land and engineering survey tasks to support construction, infrastructure, and land development activities. The position requires operating and maintaining survey equipment, gathering and processing survey data, and generating related documentation while adhering to project and company guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate various surveying instruments such as Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and digital levels under supervision.
- Conduct field measurements for distances, elevations, angles, and site features during surveys.
- Accurately collect, record, and verify survey data following established procedures and quality benchmarks.
- Assist with topographic, boundary, construction, as-built, and control surveys.
- Support the processing and analysis of survey data to create maps, reports, and drawings.
- Maintain precise field notes and survey documentation.
- Help prepare survey plans, coordinate lists, and boundary descriptions.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of survey tools.
- Promptly report any equipment issues requiring attention.
- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate survey operations.
- Identify discrepancies in measurements and escalate them for review.
- Ensure all survey activities comply with company, project, and industry standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy in all documentation.
- Contribute to the company's Quality Management and Integrated Management Systems.
- Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, participate in safety meetings, and report hazards or incidents.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Up to two years' experience in surveying or construction projects is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of surveying principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, and similar instruments.
- Knowledge of topographic, boundary, leveling, and construction surveys.
- Advantageous to have experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or other survey software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specs.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy focus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capacities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Organized with effective time management.
