Job description

Overview

As a member of the Support Staff team, you’ll help the Marion Superior Court Probation Department run smoothly by handling administrative tasks, responding to questions in person and over the phone, monitoring systems, and completing data-entry and e-filing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming phone calls, route them to the right contact, respond to questions, and relay messages as needed.
  • Handle everyday questions, concerns, and complaints from visitors and callers, and direct them to the proper person or office.
  • Enter, update, and maintain information in multiple computer systems; create and manage records; and produce forms and reports from databases, including e-filing tasks.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, and respectful tone when dealing with the courts, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Support additional assignments and special projects as requested by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or HSE is required.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to perform all essential duties reliably and consistently. The position calls for practical office knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to stay organized under pressure.

Additional Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with computer software, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Comfort working with people from varied backgrounds in a collaborative setting.
  • Ability to juggle several tasks at once while meeting firm deadlines and expectations.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Experience interacting effectively with both professionals and members of the public.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Compensation Notes

Pay will be determined based on relevant experience. Candidates with bilingual Spanish or Burmese language skills, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree may be eligible for a salary increase.
