About Tandem Diabetes Care

Tandem Diabetes Care develops diabetes technology designed to improve everyday life for people living with diabetes, their families, and healthcare professionals. Role Overview

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting sourcing and procurement activities for components and finished goods. You will work closely with internal partners and external suppliers to keep production aligned with demand, maintain healthy inventory levels, and reduce supply disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders and stay in regular contact with suppliers to support manufacturing needs.
  • Share accurate demand forecasts and planning changes with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory positions and lead times to keep supply balanced.
  • Address shipment delays and supplier performance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Process change orders and update part setups and BOM records in the ERP system.
  • Maintain reliable data across item masters, MRP inputs, and component records.
  • Partner with Engineering and Contract Manufacturers to review and validate BOMs.
  • Assist with sourcing for new product introductions, long-lead purchases, and end-of-life parts.
  • Support supplier management activities including reviews, QBR preparation, negotiations, and KPI tracking.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in procurement and material flow.
  • Follow company policies and regulatory requirements, including Privacy/HIPAA and related compliance standards.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent mix of education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in materials procurement, including change order handling.
  • Working knowledge of ERP platforms, preferably Microsoft D365, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid understanding of MRP planning, purchasing workflows, and inventory control.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and support manufacturing needs.
  • Strong communication skills for both strategic conversations and day-to-day execution.
  • Highly organized with careful attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented in approach.
  • Experience working across engineering, planning, and manufacturing functions.
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role based in Barnes Canyon, San Diego, California. The schedule is expected to include in-office work three days per week, although this may change based on business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual base salary for this role is $73,000 to $91,000. Actual pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, the candidate’s location, and market conditions. In addition to base pay, the position includes bonus eligibility and a competitive benefits package.
