Job description
About the Company
Zeagold Nutrition is among New Zealand’s major egg producers and processors, supplying supermarket, foodservice, and export customers from a nationwide network of farms and processing facilities. The organisation is currently expanding its network and investing in stronger planning capability to support future growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Logistics and Supply Manager, this position owns the forward supply plan across a complex, multi-site operation. It is a central role within the S&OP process, linking farm output, production planning, inventory control, and customer delivery. The job calls for someone who can interpret a fast-changing situation, make practical decisions, and challenge the plan when the numbers do not make sense.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the forward shell egg supply forecast updated, using Power BI and agreed planning assumptions.
- Coordinate grading schedules across 2 to 4 internal locations plus more than 10 external grading sites and farms.
- Create weekly production plans for processed egg products based on raw material availability, demand forecasts, and stock positions.
- Track shell egg and processed product inventory against target days of cover, while actively managing short-dated and older stock.
- Run shell egg replenishment planning through DRP across all distribution centres.
- Plan, purchase, and allocate packaging stock so production can continue without interruption.
- Facilitate weekly and monthly supply meetings to keep supply and demand aligned across the network.
- Spot risks to the supply plan and escalate them with clear, well-supported recommendations.
- Support ongoing improvement in scheduling workflows and planning tools.
Skills and Experience
The position suits a planner with at least 3 years’ experience, ideally in FMCG, food, or another primary industry, although other fast-paced production settings will also be considered. A strong grasp of S&OP and demand/supply planning practices is needed, along with advanced Excel capability. Experience with D365 and Power BI would be an advantage. You should be comfortable working with data, turning analysis into practical advice, and speaking up confidently when a plan needs to be challenged. Strong communication skills are important, especially for building trust across production, sales, and logistics teams. A relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, analytics, or a related area is preferred.
What’s On Offer
This is a hands-on planning role with significant operational responsibility rather than a back-office support position. You will be closely involved in the S&OP process, managing a complex supply network, and working with senior leaders to keep the plan on track. It is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded planner who wants genuine ownership and is comfortable calling out issues when the numbers do not add up.
Additional Information
Remuneration will be competitive and aligned to your experience. The business is in an active phase of network development, which creates real room for growth.
