Role Summary

The Supply Chain Management Specialist will oversee logistics functions in Singapore, ensuring business goals are met efficiently and cost-effectively. This position supports the organization's growth by partnering with business units to improve operations while adhering to Terumo's social and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage timely supplier purchase order placements and verify order accuracy against factory allocations.
  • Reconcile purchase orders with receipts and monthly sales confirmations from suppliers.
  • Track purchase orders, backorders, shipping schedules, and import documentation, submitting shipping papers for customs clearance.
  • Perform invoice receipt and goods receipt postings in SAP system and handle insurance claims for transit-damaged goods.
  • Engage with Business Units and SCM teams to discuss backorder status and shipping timelines; evaluate logistics service providers’ performance.
  • Validate courier and freight invoices and oversee local delivery scheduling alongside maintaining freight charge records.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to confirm stock availability for urgent distributor needs and manage shipment of demo units regionally.
  • Ensure import shipment compliance with local regulations, including all required documentation and certificate requests.
  • Maintain shipment accountability by tracking status, providing shipment updates to Finance and Business Units, and improving reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare accurate export documentation and manage Letter of Credit processes, coordinating with banks, customers, and freight forwarders to ensure payment compliance.
  • Summarize logistics costs against budgets and implement initiatives to reduce expenses.
  • Manage SAP procedures related to year-end processes, master data registrations, and coordination with headquarters for new item setups.
  • Ensure compliance with product registration and distribution regulations, supporting audits and maintaining documentation as per KPMG and GDPMDS standards.
  • Participate in Supply Chain Improvement Programs to optimize workflows and implement best practices.
  • Implement inventory management techniques such as FIFO and FEFO to reduce write-offs; conduct regular stock takes and collaborate on consignment inventory management.
  • Monitor daily inventory operations, investigate stock discrepancies, generate reports, and support related audits.
  • Provide detailed reports analyzing supply chain metrics including order fulfillment, inventory status, backorders, and freight expenses.
  • Perform ad hoc projects assigned by management and engage in corporate social responsibility and team development activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within regulated sectors like medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG.
  • Certification such as CSCP or formal supply chain training is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in import and export logistics operations, including handling dangerous goods and Letters of Credit.
  • Experienced in 3PL warehouse and consignment inventory management.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA modules (MM, SD, O2C).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with resilience and composure.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
