About the Role

Join Siemens Energy in Berlin as a Supplier Quality Engineer for an initial 18-month project with potential for extension or permanent employment. You'll be responsible for qualifying and enhancing suppliers to guarantee top-tier quality across the supply chain. Acting as the key liaison among procurement, engineering, and suppliers, you will drive successful product and process qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier qualifications within a cross-functional team, including supplier capability assessments and initial audits.
  • Lead product and process qualifications (PPQ) following applicable standards and procedures.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor project milestones, budget, and schedules.
  • Provide regular progress reports on qualification status to stakeholders.
  • Initiate and implement quality assurance actions with suppliers during qualification phases.
  • Coordinate, assess, and approve supplier processes based on manufacturing inspection plans.
  • Oversee and evaluate supplier quality performance continuously.
  • Analyze quality deviations and perform root cause analyses (RCA).
  • Launch and track corrective, preventive, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Manage supplier quality improvement programs.
  • Plan and execute regular supplier audits.
  • Support product development by incorporating procurement and quality considerations.
  • Evaluate technical changes and enhancements with economic perspectives.
  • Promote early supplier involvement in development projects.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams and internal stakeholders globally.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or similar engineering fields.
  • Several years of experience in supplier quality management, quality assurance, or supplier management.
  • Strong knowledge in production, manufacturing, or materials engineering.
  • Familiarity with nondestructive testing (NDT) is advantageous.
  • Additional certification as a welding engineer (SFI/IWE) is a plus.
  • Project management certification considered favorable.
  • Proficiency in quality management tools and problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, and RCA.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, structured, and team-oriented working style.
  • Fluency in German and business-level English, both spoken and written.
